In this ‘Science of JewelleryWorkshop’ not only will you make some fabulous pieces of jewellery, but you will also discoversome of the scientific aspects that lie beneath the art of jewellery making.Find out how “Light” is used as a means of gemstone identification. The optical properties ofgemstones such as refraction and dispersion play a significant role in how they interact withlight. And you will have the opportunity to test some gems with the scientific equipment usedby gemmologists to determine a gems authenticity.Then by creating a chemical reaction between resin and hardener – to form a virtuallyindestructible bond – you will create a durable medium in which to fashion your own uniquependant and bracelet. You can also rejuvenate any old pieces of jewellery or broken watchesby incorporating them into your resin design. The nbest bit is, you geyt to keep what you make!
