Food Cult Project Tour
[Audience]: secondary schools up to adults
Food Cult is a multiscale project bringing together history, archaeology, science and IT to explore diet and foodways in early modern Ireland (c.AD 1550 – 1650). Come on our guided tour about the people who lived in Kilkenny and hear about their dietary habits propelled by the times in which they lived. Studies based on bone collagen from human remains here at the Medieval Mile Museum in Kilkenny has enabled a team of experts to give us a picture of life hundreds of years ago. What did people eat and how it affected their health, an interesting and innovative insight into Kilkennys love of food culture!
